Coffee #1 - Swindon
Welcome to Coffee #1 - Swindon, a charming little café located at 1 Canal Walk, Swindon. Known for its inviting atmosphere, it promises a delightful break in the hustle and bustle of the high street. However, recent reviews shed light on varying experiences that offer both tasty treats and some worrisome service implications.
As you step into Coffee #1, the first thing you notice is the delightful assortment of festive treats on display. This season, make sure to indulge in their special Star Mince Pie—crafted with a crisp pastry filled with a medley of raisins, currants, sultanas, and mixed spice. Topped with a pastry star and a dusting of icing sugar snow, it's a festive delight priced at just £3.30. This dish truly reflects the café's commitment to providing a seasonal, heartwarming experience.
But how does the café's coffee measure up? According to customer feedback, opinions diverge significantly. One visitor, Leon Langrish, shared a less-than-stellar cappuccino experience, noting that the coffee fell short of his expectations, described as weak despite opting for a strong blend. While he did share his thoughts on the flapjack—that it was decent but not remarkable—his overall remarks emphasize a desire for improvement.
However, the conversation doesn’t stop there. Other patrons have voiced their frustrations, particularly regarding the service. Neon Critter expressed feelings of being unwelcome due to consistently grumpy staff. Meanwhile, Priyesh Jani walked out due to poor customer service and inconvenience with cash-only transactions, indicating a need for better communication and customer care.
Despite these challenges, Coffee #1 - Swindon remains a potential gem in Swindon’s café scene. The festive treats alone are worth a visit, but it’s essential for the café to address the feedback regarding service quality to create a truly inviting space for all its customers.
In summary, while Coffee #1 - Swindon has a promising selection of treats and a neat location, enhancing the staff's approach to customer service could significantly reshape the overall dining experience here. If you’re in the area, perhaps drop by for that tempting Star Mince Pie, and share your thoughts—after all, every good café thrives on constructive feedback!

Came here for a coffee break while nearby. Seemed like a nice place on the high street. Staff quite friendly and good service. I just had a cappuccino and a flapjack. The flapjack was OK but not much different from a packet one which was a shame. Coffee I was offered option of strong blend which I chose. Still the coffee was very weak and not that good. I was here mid afternoon and place was also not as clean as it could be especially as it wasn't overly busy at this time. Could still be worth a visit but unless the coffee gets better I'll look again.

It doesn't matter what time of day, time of the year, day of the week I go in the staff are always so miserable and pissed off. I always feel I'm annoying them or my mere being here is irritating. I get people have bad days but every single time? They never adress you if your standing there until they have finished their previous task. Just a hey! With you in a sec would be fine. They are giggly and happy when they are chattering to one another tho

Walked out today due to the awful customer service.I ordered a large latte with two syrups and a tuna melt to eat in, but they were only accepting cash - this was inconvenient but fine, as they had put a sign on the door.Total came to £. and I didn't want to carry £. in change back - I compromised with the syrups and asked for only one pump of each - there would normally be at least or pumps in a large latte. However the senior server would not budge and was happy for me to walk out over p when I am spending £ and they are only accepting cash - the reason being that she insisted I had to pay for both syrups even though I was only receiving pumps (the same or less than if I had just chosen one syrup).I know this must come from training and the management culture from above so this is not a vent against the staff who I'm sure were just doing their job as they had been trained.Even in normal times this would be bad customer service but especially when things are so tough in the sector.I would love to see a reply from senior management about this.
